This new Phase III concept has been developed and refined over approximately 10 years, with no new disease problems, including green mould, observed to date. The substrate creates a highly selective growing environment for Agaricus mycelium, allowing it to establish and develop extremely rapidly.
The concept eliminates the need for conventional Phase I and Phase II composting. Growers can produce Phase III substrate locally, reducing dependence on traditional composting infrastructure and significantly lowering substrate costs.
Depending on the filling rate, cooling capacity and air-handling capacity, the growing cycle can move from filling to first pick in less than 17 days.
Under suitable operating conditions, yields are comparable to Dutch Phase III substrate.
The system can be implemented in existing cultivation rooms equipped with modern cooling and air-handling technology. It does not require growers to completely redesign their cultivation facilities.
Depending on local raw-material, energy and operating costs, Phase III substrate can typically be produced for approximately:
A commercial demonstration farm is available in Malaysia, where interested growers, producers and potential licensees can see the technology operating under commercial conditions.
Visits are available by appointment.
Commercial partners and licensees are invited to get in touch.
Licenses will be issued on territory and/or mutual agreed condition, based on first come first take and signing of an NDA agreement.
